snowpack update

Much Better Snow News! Was in the upper Flathead watershed on June 7-8 and there is no snow on roads below about 1500 m. Some patchy snow in trees and on northfacing areas, up to 2 ft. deep. Above 1500 m there are some snow patches on shaded areas on roads (1-2 ft. deep, 50 to 1000 m in length), but nothing that a little bike n' hike won't surpass. Road condition is relatively mucky, but the mostly gravel base still provides pretty firm riding (considering the rain the area has been getting!). Conditions may be better on Montana side of the line. Forecast is good for the next week, so "Give'r!!!"
