Hello Tour Divide Folks,
My apologies for the delay in getting this posted- I just returned from the San Juan Mtn's, and was in Platoro following Mathew Lee when we got the bad news last night. It's been a long sad drive along the Divide today, and I'm pretty wiped out at the moment.
In following the Tour Divide this year, I was lucky enough to follow Dave, Aiden Harding, and Forest Baker across the Great Divide Basin. In the short time I spent talking with Dave that day, it was obvious to me that he was a special person. Dave was the kind of person that you wish there were more of, and I genuinely looked forwards to seeing him again.

This link, http://www.mountainflyer.com/news.cfm?itemid=400 is a brief report and photo about Dave (there are also more photos from the first week in this post, http://www.mountainflyer.com/news.cfm?itemid=397). I'll post some more photos in the near future. But for now, my thoughts and sincerest condolences go out to Dave's friends and family.
