The LOI tradition is borrowed from another grand tour staged in the hills above Harrisonburg, VA. USA. Tour de Burg has been collecting pre-race LOIs for some 10 years now. These letters vary from camp to deadpan but are always entertaining. Appreciate TdB's `08 LOIs here.
Similar creativity in a TD letter of intent is not expected but can make light of the formality of telling us who you are and which autonomous region you hail from. In the otherwise serious process of getting oneself to the start line of such a behemoth race, a little tongue-in-cheek gamesmanship can do the psyche some good.
