Missing Blue Dots

Ok, we just noticed that the Blue Dots are gone. We haven't changed anything on the website so this is a mystery. We are attempting to reach SPOT for some guidance but they may not be able to help since Kevin (I think) wrote the code. I only know how to post blogs and nothing more, so Joe Polk is trying to help. Just wanted to let you know we are working diligently on this.

Let me know if I can help...

I was going to help Keven with the spot stuf but he got it working before we got to talk. That said I will help if needed.

Great. How can I reach you?

One more link

OK, I'm done playing with this now. Here's the route, the main Spot feed from the race + Plesko :)

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=http:%2F%2Fmapufacture....

maps.google site is great, but not updating?

I love the presentation on this maps.google.com site, but even when I refresh the page I'm not getting new Spot data. Any chance it can be fixed? The yahoo maps presentation is updating correctly, but I like the route data and the other features of the google one more. Thanks to everybody who is making these work! Amy

I took the feed the Ppot

I took the feed the Ppot leaderboard was using and created my own mashup with Yahoo Pipes that also included Chris Plesko. It doesn't show the route but shows all the riders. Here's the link to it while you're sorting out issues with the leaderboard. It shows the same data.

Mike

Correction: Feed from Spot

... rather than Ppot :)

Thank You!

Hi Mike,
I want to thank you for taking the initiative & having the know how to give us concerned family members & friends another way to follow the riders. We appreciate it!
Peace,
Tina

Google Maps & Earth

I've taken Jevin's URL and put it in to Goolgle earth. There's a Google Maps link and a link to the kmz here. Hopefully they will update themselves and not be frozen in time

Of course that should have

Of course that should have been Kevin not Jevin

Very cool

Just want to thank you guys for all of your hard work to keep us family and friends in the loop with these riders. It sure helps keep you mind at ease seeing those spots moving along the trails.
Especially love this google earth one! Kudos! It's nice to be able to see the terrain they are in.
Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated.

Spot

Hey, I'm thankful my daughter set up a shared spot site where I can track her. Oh--Mary Collier. She knows how I really support her and want to be there via web for the ride. Did others set up personal sites for the ride. I wish the best of luck and a fun ride for all.

Even better...

These are even better than the map that was integrated into the website. Now you can easily switch between map, satellite, terrain and see the distances, etc. Thanks for the links.
