Update to Emergency Situation Message

I have spoke to Summitt County Sheriff's Office and SPOT GEOS contact Randy Hanson. I have been told that there was a motor vehicle accident on UTE Pass with a rollover down an embankment BUT the 2 bikers were not part of the accident and rather assisting at the scene. The two riders at the scene were Alan Goldsmith and Dominik Scherer. I was told Alan's 911 message was set off to get help for the motor vehicle incident and the dispatcher particularly told me that when she called to the scene Dominik was there helping. It was a pretty tense time but I am so thankful that we have been told that neither Alan nor Dominik were involved in the accident. You may have noticed that they were at the same location for a couple of hours this afternoon. I guess this is not the "official message" yet but all the information that I could gather this afternoon. From all of my calls, I found out that SPOT dispatched sent for help immediately. As soon as Alan and/or Dominik call in we'll know the whole story.

Phew

Great to hear everyone is ok, it has been troubling me that someone crusin the vistas might have been hurt. Big props to spot for sending help... what a great device!

SPOT is AWESOME

I can't really say enough about SPOT, how it works, how we can see where the bikers are, how the rescue works, and to top it all off they have a great staff. I would encourage anyone who has followed the race to log in to www.findmespot.com and give them a shout out about how great it has been. SPOT has worked for months with Tour Divide getting set up for the race and then has helped Joe Polk and myself during the race. I'm hoping their sponsorship of this race will pay off with big sales for them because they definitely have a great product.

......SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!

It's great to hear the guys are okay. I hope everyone in the vehicle are in the same shape. Spot really does give you a sense of confidence out there. My family loved tracking me wherever and it truly does give them some sort of peace of mind.

Well guys, time to make the final push for the finish! God's speed!

Thanks for the Update Sherry

Sherry,
Thanks so much for all of your hard work and effort. It's great to have the updates so quickly. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't read the updates and check the SPOT everyday every chance I get.

THANK YOU!!!!
Victoria

best wishes
