This is Rick calling in from Butte again.  Woke up this morning and it was pouring rain.  I was going to leave early and I was trying to make a decision on whether or not to take an off day in Butte and let the weather clear out but later it looked like it started breaking up, so, I decided to go ahead and push off.  I'm leaving later than I thought I would.  So, the roads are going to be wet but at least I think the weather will be clear for a while until maybe it starts raining again later today.  But I might not be calling in now for a while, I'm getting into some desolate areas where the phone service is not available.  But I'll call in next time when I can.

Hi Rick, Glad to hear your

Hi Rick,

Glad to hear your knees are feeling better and that you are able to pedal out of the saddle. Your patience & perseverance has paid off. I've lived thru some of that. I just had to laugh a few calls back when you were talking of knee pains and thinking about putting in 100 miles the same day. Your calls are very entertaining and real. Thanks for keeping us updated about other racers as well, that are way too submersed in the race to remember to call in. If you see Deanna again tell her to turn on her SPOT tracking. Good luck to you. Hang in there. BTW, I just checked the weather. No more rain. Sunny skies ahead. Yea !!!

Adrian

You are doing soooooooooo good!

Glad to hear your knee is feeling better and that your ass is too!

Ron & Phyllis

YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!!!!!

I was worried but you sound much better. When I read you could not stand to pedal I was afraid you might not be able to continue. For whatever reason I know you will be able to finish. Just watch out for the bears and wolves. We are all pulling for you!

See you soon!

Hello

Rick:

Been foloowing you along the way. Sounded bad a few days back, but seems like it has improved, the knee that is. Spoke to Doc and he told me you called.

Keep on, Keeping on! Glad you are feeling better and eventually the weatehr will improve.

Keep on Truckin' Dude!

So glad to hear that your knee is doing better. You are amazing to have continued on in spite of the pain, but we already know that's just part of your character. Hoyet says he's gonna do the ride next year...on his motorcycle! Honestly, though, we both can't get over what an adventure this must be. You'll have something to tell your grandkids that'll impress the heck out of them. I looked at all the photos of last year's race, and Montana blew me away. I'm going to have to visit one day. By the way, be glad for one thing if nothing else, the cool weather. It has been 100 to 103 here with heat index up to 111. You picked a good time to head north! Keep calling in. I check in the morning at work for updates and then Hoyet and I check before we turn in. It's better than TV!Later!

Keep it up!

You're doing great dad! Don't let the rain get you down. Push through it and enjoy it because you'll probably miss it when you get closer to Mexico! It was 106* here!

Hope you're still having fun though :-)
