Update on Dave Blumenthal
Dave Blumenthal was involved in a head on collision with a vehicle this morning descending a pass in Colorado. Currently, all we know is that he was medevaced to Denver with a head injury. Our thoughts are with his Dave and his family. We'll update with more information as we receive it.

Financial Assistance for the Blumenthals?
I am just a TD/GDR fan, and I do not know any of the racers personally. However, along with our prayers I suspect the Blumenthal family would appreciate some financial support. Admin, can you set up a PayPal donation button for this purpose? Or, perhaps there are some other ways we could give them financial support?
Thoughts, prayers and all
Thoughts, prayers and all best wishes to Dave and family.

Dave stopped in at our shop in Butte, Montana on his way south! To Dave and Dave's family, everyone at the Outdoorsman Bike Shop wishes you all the best. Rob Leipheimer, JoAnne, Jon, and I were shocked to learn of Dave's misfortune through the MTBCast call-in of Forest Baker. We hope Dave's recovery is complete, uncomplicated, and rapid. Dave
My brother was a racer in this race. I have still kept following each day, to silently cheer people on and continually be amazed at their adventures. To me it takes a special kind of person to even begin this race. When I read of Dave's accident today, I was just sick. My thoughts and prayers go to him and his family. Angels are with you Dave and prayers go out to you. To the other racers, I am sure your guardian angels are with you on this race and I wish you all the best. Prayers and hugz from Canada.

Sending positive thoughts your way big Dave
Dave, get well soon, I know you have the strength to make a speedy recovery. I had the pleasure of driving Dave B up to the Montreal airport with my husband, Dave T, both from Vermont on their flight out to Banff, and I agree, Dave is so positive and has such a unique take on life, I am sure he will pull through this all. I just heard about this. PLEASE PLEASE call me if I can help in any way here in Vermont, even something mundane like watering your garden. Anything. I'm praying for you and hope to have a good report soon. Dot
I heard of you today for the first time...
in a german MTB group. I read your blog an learned a lot about your thoughts. Your wife and your little daughter can be proud of you. You lived your dreams, you looked for adventures. I hope that your family now wins all the luck that you've lost in the race. I hope that your daughter, when she comes of age will see you as a man who loved her and made a lot of fantastic things. I've also chlidren, and I just told them your story. We also love hiking, canoeing an biking and we are really shocked. Our prayers are with the whole family.
