Hi, this is Alan calling in from Steamboat, it's just gone one. I've had my bike serviced, new drive chain, so good to go again. Made it to Brush Mountain Lodge last night and Kirsten really looked after us. There were 5 of us there, so, it was a good night. Had my hot tub! Sat in there with Blaine and a beer. Then she got up real early and made us breakfast. Set us off at six, we made it into Steamboat about eleven. Alot of activity. People getting new bikes and services. So, we're off. South. And looking good. Over half way. Bye!!

Hello this is Trevor Browne calling from Flagg Ranch in Wyoming.  Trails are pretty good now. We've had some great weather, so all of our spirits have lifted and we're all quite happy. Had a great birthday ride yesterday,  not a cloud in the sky. Trails are drying up, so it made me happy.  The trails are great from Lima all the way through to Idaho.  Everything's going great. So that's good. We just went through part of Yellowstone, just skirted the outside of it.  Made it into Wyoming this morning.  We're getting eaten alive by mosquitoes out here. It's pretty bad. A few bike repairs to do at the ranch on my own to prepare for the upcoming passes. Everything should go well. Feeling good. All the trails are really great all the way from Lima to here; it's all dry, so anyone else coming through is going to have a pretty easy time.  I hope everyone is well. I just want to say hello to my family again and hello to Rachel.  Call you guys soon.

Hi.  Blaine Nester calling in - um - what day is it? - Wednesday, noon :) - Steamboat Springs.  Just in getting a little work done on my bike, having a bite to eat, getting some groceries, heading south.  Finally the rain has stopped - dry roads more or less and its beautiful - nice to be out of Wyoming. Looking forward to some more heat and dry roads. Sitting having lunch with a couple of crazy Brits right now - and will call in a few days - everything is going good.

(Call-in about 11 p.m. Tuesday)

Hi, Eric Bruntjen calling from Rawlins, Wy. Had a pretty good day today. It’s the 23rd. Had about a 140-mile day. I camped near the rest area north of South Pass City, made it through the Great Basin today in one shot. That was a real nice experience for me; I know that’s a tough spot, but today the weather was nice and I really had a nice time. I used to come out there with my dad, not far from there, when he was doing work with some of the Indian tribes. And it was just nice to ride along and think about him. It was a pretty easy day, I think. Went through quite a bit of water. If any of Tour riders are getting these messages, I can give you a little tip that the [unrecognizable; sounds like Diaganas] Well is flowing and Arapaho Creek is, also. But the Alkali Creek, there’s water there but there’s also about 1,000 sheep and they’re using it, but they’re not using it as a drinking fountain, so I wouldn’t get water there.
Ended up in Rawlins, got lost looking for the campground -- it’s a pretty tough town, Rawlins, so I just went ahead and got a hotel. Tomorrow I’m going to have one big climb and hopefully drop into Steamboat (Springs) for tomorrow. Other than that, things are going really well. Every restaurant I stop out, the waitress tells me about the Petervarys, and they always say ... “That guy ... that guy, he’s crazy. He just eats so much food and then he buys all of our candy and then they’re gone.” So I’m hearing all about the leaders; it’s real fun. I’ll check in tomorrow. Thanks. Bye.

Rick calls in from Lima after a dry day

Hey this is Rick calling in from Lima.  Wow, a day without rain!  Great day to ride.  It started out kind of cool this morning, it was 28° leaving Wise River.  It didn't get up above 30 until about 9:00 and then it warmed up pretty good since then.  A lot different then the day before up there on Fleecer Ridge where it was a snow squall for a while.  But today, it was good except I left before breakfast and thinking I would get some food along the way.  But, there was nothing from Wise River to Wiemer and when I got to Grant there was nothing there.  I was just, I needed some food bad, so, I decided to cut over and come into Lima from a different direction from the planned route.  So, I'm disqualifying myself since I went off route and got to Lima a slightly different way.  So, but I'm going to keep plugging on and following the route from here on and calling in.  But that was the reason why had not taken the planned route into Lima.  But I'm still doing good and it was a long day for me, about 130 miles or so.  My knee is acting up a little bit, so, I'm icing it again but I should start off tomorrow morning and I plan to get breakfast before I leave tomorrow morning.  Talk to you later.
