Hii it’s Allen Goldsmith it’s uhh just on 9 on Sunday been going three days. It’s been Pretty good. Day one was pretty straight forward to Elkford . Rode that with John and Steve. And day two was pretty huge tough day through flathead valley but really spectacular. I rode that with John and the German guy who would be awesome if someone was to sponsor him and give him a light bike. He’s riding a 400-yr old bike which is falling apart beneath him. But very good despite having a load of stuff on the back, and today we’ve come from Eureka to Big Fork, Montana which is just two miles south of the route. So it’s all going well its was very hot today I think maybe 90 even….definitely in the 80’s. So I don’t know what’s gonna happen as we get further south. Ok bye!

Saturday through the Flathead Valley, really spectacular. I rode that with John and the German guy who would be awesomeif someone was to sponsor him and give him a light bike. Hey, this is Tracey calling from Ferndale, and just wanted to say thank you so much to Glacier Cycles, um, for the nice job, they cleaned up and tuned up our Love Shack…got it back on track, so, um, that was really excellent, thank you very much. And, uh, we’re going to head out, just uh, keep ridin’ til’ we get to the next step, the point here…so, um, what else?...Today was a great day of riding by the way, absolutely beautiful forest that we went through, and, um, yeah, looking forward to some more, so we’ll talk to you soon. Thanks again. See ya. -DB

This is Jay at 3:00p on Sunday. We are in Whitefish. We missed a turn last night and it is a 30 mile difference. We are not too worried about it.  Had a bunch of good food and are restocking. We are heading out in a few minutes. We will see how far we get tonight. The weather has been great and we had a really good nights rest. We are being taken care of by Glacier Cyclery who gave us a nice tune-up and we ate next door at a pizzeria. Life is good on a bike.

This is Tracy calling in. I will give you a re-cap on the events that happened the last couple of days. I was a little out of it yesterday. Lot of climbing in Canada. Up and down. Coming downhill on loose gravely rocks and wet mud at 40 miles an hour can be a little scary.  Getting used to it and it is becoming quite fun. Last night we took a wrong turn on The 114 and missed the right hand turn. Ended up going about 30 miles out of the way. Came upon some really pretty lakes and it was quite worth the view. Right now we are in whitefish getting ready to head on and make it as far as we can . Thanks everybody for being there and helping us with this big adventure. We will see you next time Take care. er

Race Report: End of Day 2 into Day 3

Racer update about:
Snow on Red Meadow Pass (2008)Snow on Red Meadow Pass (2008)

Since our race report last night, we have seen a lot of action on the leaderboard and in the call-ins.  This morning, we watched Matt Lee's lead over Chris Plesko, Kurt Refsnider, and Joe Meiser (Salsa Cycles / winner of the 2009 Trans-Iowa race) grow to over 40 miles as he came into Columbia Falls (mile 328) as they took a break on the top of Red Meadow Pass (mile 287).  Chris, Kurt and Joe decided to make camp at the foot of the climb up the Whitefish Divide at mile 245 while Matt pushed halfway up the Red Meadow Pass climb (mile 280).  Unfortunately, two former leaders have dropped back.  John Nobile has been in Eureka (mile 225) for the past 16 hours for unknown reasons.  Jay and Tracey Petervary also made an effort to climb up the Whitefish Divide last night only to go extremely off course and nearly end up towards the Canadian border.
