Hey this is T-Race again and just wanted to say Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, special one to mine…if any one of my siblings could let him know I said that, that would be great…I am obviously out here and I don’t have his phone number so, alright…and, um just wanted to say last when we were coming in we got to see a skunk, momma skunk with a bunch of babies which was really cool…so despite all of the crappiness that was going on that was really neat. Alright. Talk to you later.

Ah…this is the Love Shack calling back, it’s about 10 o’clock, finally pulling out of Pinedale, feelings really good though because we just picked up Quick Links, kinda cleaned up the drive train really well, replaced some housing…everything’s really getting mucked up…give a big thanks to A-Z hardware. Anyone who is behind and needs to stop there, they should because they will have everything you need. And yeah, you might think it’s a little hole in the wall but its perfect. Thanks, we’re on our way.

Good morning Tour Divide fans, this is Tracey and JayP calling in from Pinedale Wyoming, we’re hear at A-Z hardware and we’re just fixing up our bike, getting it good to go so we can make it to Steamboat where we’re supposed to be getting a new drive train. Everything’s going pretty well, yesterday of course was pretty heinous with the snow on Togwotee and the rain on Union Pass and the thunder and the breaking of the chain…it was just one of those days, but uh, got a good night’s sleep, got a shower, and um, freshened up a bit, and we’re going to head to Atlantic City today and then probably push on through the basin and see where we get…but we’re in good spirits, we’re really excited about moving forward…things are going good…the body’s holding up…and yeah, the Love Shack is just needing a little more love, so, alright, thanks everybody…just wanted to say thanks to Jeff at Carousel Design Works, the bags are awesome. We appreciate that, to carry our gear…and yeah, everything’s going great and we’ll talk to you soon. Alright, take care.

Hey, it’s Justin. I’m not sure what my SPOT is telling you but I am in Jackson still. I made the decision yesterday afternoon that I don’t want to keep doing the route at the pace I’m going. I’ve learned that after a week of going about 125 miles a day is just not the way I want to do it. Y’know, I’ve been really into the Great Divide for so long and I feel like I’m not enjoying it. I’m missing opportunities. I’m missing seeing great places along the way. I’ve passed up opportunities to see people and good friends just in the first week alone and I have more regrets over all the things I’ve passed up more than regretting stopping this pace in the race. I mean the Divide is something I definitely want to finish and plan to finish, but it’s not going to be in race form. That’s what I’ve learned so far. So, I am in Jackson, taking it in: The Tetons, Yellowstone, some friends. I’m going to continue doing some riding of course, but like I said, it’s not in race form for me. I learned that in the first week, and even when I first got into Whitefish and saw Kathie Love along the way and could only see her for a few minutes, it was very emotional and I felt like I was just not doing the route and taking the trip as I want to, so it’s no longer a race for me. I’ll be covering what I can before I have to go back to work, and then I’ll come back out here again and finish the route, but I’m done racing. Best of luck to everyone else out there. And thanks again. Bye.

Hi this is Alan calling in from the Sawmill Restaurant, which is firmly closed. On Sunday 7.30 in the morning. Err. Yesterday the Divide kicked my ass!! And it ain't getting any better!! We had to push 4 miles up to Togwotee Mountain Lodge because of the mud on the 'Impassable When Wet' road. It started raining just as we left the Buffalo Valley Cafe, just before the 'Impassable When Wet' road begins. And then. the restaurant there was shut. We ate junk food. Saw the Italians breezing up the road, so they're disqualified. I heard rumours that they were missing the difficult bits. I guess that's roadies for you!! Calls into question all his past achievements I think. I wouldn't sponsor the guy, or his mate. Anyway after Togwotee Mountain Lodge things got worse. The Brooks Lake Road was even worse than last year, took us about 2hrs to go 3 or 4 miles and then they had no room at Brooks Lake Lodge, but luckily they phoned ahead to Lava Mountain Lodge and they looked after us, they stayed open late, that was a life saver, but we left before breakfast hoping to get breakfast here, but this doesn't open until NOON!! Happy Days!! Call you from Pinedale, Bye!
