Hey, it’s Justin. I’m in Lima. Pretty tired after almost, I guess 150 miles today. Stayed up on Fleecer Ridge last night, so it was pretty cold. About 7,000 feet. So, I didn’t get much sleep and then long day today. Um, we’ll see what happens tomorrow. See if I can stick with Steve and josh—they’re a bit faster, so I might drop back, but we’ll see what happens. Bye .

Hi, this is Jill Homer, I'm calling from Elkhorn Hot Springs.  We had a really ideal day seven.  We had a few showers in the morning, climbing that first pass out of Butte after we spent quite a long morning waiting for a bike shop to open and all that.  But, after that, the weather was beautiful today.  Not too hot.  Umm, had a lot of fun on Fleecer Ridge... nice hike-a-bike there.  And then coming up that last pass at sunset was amazing.  I kinda agree with something someone said last year in the Great Divide Race about how it seems silly to rush through all these beautiful places that we're going through.  So, took some time there, took some pictures, soaked in the scenery.  And now we're at Elkford Hot Springs and, uhh, pretty happy to be here.  Looking forward to tomorrow.  Talk to you later.  Bye.

Hey this is Rick Ashton, calling in from the TD.  Notes from the back of the pack.  Left Whitefish yesterday and the knee was still bothering me quite a bit.  I made it up close to, I guess, Condon and there was a storm just about to break, so, I went ahead and camped right along side the forrest service road where I was.  Jeff had caught up to me right before the rain and he decided to push on in to go off route to Condon to get something to eat.  This morning I went off route and found Gregg in Condon and we kinda rode together today and went over Richmond Peak and we're in Seeley Lake now.  Martin is here also and Brad and Deanna are also all here in Seeley Lake.  So, we're going to push off tomorrow early.  My knee is feeling a little bit better today, so, that's encouraging for me!

Hi, this is Alan Goldsmith. I'm in Lima, it's 10 o'clock. Big day from Wise River. Pretty warm compared to yesterday. Yesterday after we left Butte it rained for a few hours and the trails turned to soft, draggy mud. So that was a long way over from Butte to Wise River. I was pretty wrecked at the end of that. But today was much easier, I just rode at my own pace, got here for 7.30, had dinner, got some stuff and ready to go for tomorrow. There's seven of us here at the moment, so, big crowd and there's rumours that Steve, Justin and Josh aren't far away as well. One guy who stayed where they stayed last night is here, so, it's possible... that'll make ten. Big party. OK, so heading into Idaho tomorrow and that'll be Montana. Bye.

Hi. Blaine Nester calling in from Lima.  Rolled in here this evening.  Tough day - today was nice - no rain - no flats.  Yesterday was a tough day - some flats - some rain - some hail.  Everything is going good - a few minor repairs in Butte to the bike.  A big thanks to Rick and the staff at the Outdoorsman - they're awesome - really good customer service.  Body's holding out good so carrying on.  To all the folks at home - having a lot of fun and working on that beer belly - maybe it will be gone by the time I get home.  Will check in next time.

Replay videos to day 6

Racer update about:

Here are two more race replay videos, both generated using TopoFusion GPS software. They show the entire race up to this morning.

The first is of just the top 10 riders:

The second has all riders:

Thanks to Sue N for the suggestion of going with racer's initials instead of their full names. It makes it easier to see what's going on.

Once again, it will look like some riders are cutting the course! This is not the case -- they just didn't get SPOT points for a while.

Hi its Erik Lobeck calling in at 6:30 in Lima, I’m still Montana I believe.   It’s been a long day on the road.  I finally emerged from the rain, the wet and the cold and now we are in the sort of dry parched country.  Things are going well my leg is back into working condition, my bike however has some issues the shifting is deteriorating by the day I’ll probably have to lend it some attention at some point. Ya it has been a muddy affair so that’s no surprise. I’ll probably need a whole new drive chain once I hit steamboat if I make it there.  Let see what else.  I guess I don’t have to worry about grizzly bears anymore for a little wile until I am back in Wyoming. And ah what else can I say.. We will have to see if I keep riding tonight or if I stay in a motel here.  Not sure yet see how I feel after a big meal again food is an issue but I made it here with food to spare so I guess that’s good.  o.k.  Bye.
