Alan Goldsmith gets a dose of Trail Magic in Wise River

Racer update about:

Hi this is Alan Goldsmith. I'm in Lima. It is 10:30 on Thursday night. Had quite a big day today. Started at the Beaver Dam Campground before Fleecer Ridge. Got up at 5 and went over Mt. Fleecer. No problem finding the infamous Ken Peterson fence. I don't know what he was doing. He must have been day dreaming. Dominik rode the descent on his 15 kilo roughneck (roughsack). We got to Wise River. The cafe was shut. But some lady took pity on us and took us to her house for breakfast. Big thanks to Linda and Tom for that. Then it was a monster haul over to Lima. Blue Sky for Stephen Gleasner

Racer update about:

Hello this is Stephen Gleasner. Blue Sky Motel in Lincoln, MT. I had kinda of a short day today coming from Seeley Lake. Nice and fast pace. I met up with Chris who is single speeding down on a solo mission. So we matched (or massed?) pace today. That was good for me because he is quite a bit faster and just kinda stretched me out. Feeling good. Tomorrow attacking the next thing after Helena, I believe. All systems are go. Big meal. ..... Eating. Legs feel good. Got a bit of cough, but that just makes me sound sexy. There it is. Travel Safe.

Kevin Montgomery fights Bugs on the way to Lima

Racer update about:

Hello, this is Kevin Montgomery calling in from Lima, MT. Getting ready to finish up the last 60 or so miles in MT tomorrow morning early. Covered about 155 miles today. It was definitely an interesting day. Woke up and it was below freezing. I camped on the bottom of Fleecer and had the climb in the morning. So a little chilly waking up out of bivy sack in that. Also my sleeping bag is only related to like 45 degrees. It was certainly not a comfortable night. I would day it got into the high 80s at one point today. Quite the range. Nothing a whole lot to mention. Read more »

Felix Wong Climbs his way to Basin

Racer update about:

Hi this Felix Wong calling at 9:20 now in Basin, MT. Its Thursday, June 19th. It was just an incredibly difficult day. Every day there has been a difficult climb or multiple difficult climbs. Today was the mother of all climbs. The climb better Helena and Basin was just unbelievable. It was super long, super steep, very sandy, lot of cars passing and kicking up dust. Then at the top it was a very rugged, rough, technical climb and I basically had to walk both up and down that. Yeh, man, uh. Then I got lost by a few miles. Then even on the road back down to Basin. I took a spill once. Read more »

Felix Wong Working Thru Hamstring Issues

Racer update about:

Hi this is Felix Wong calling at 12:45 Thursday, June 19th from Helena, Montana. Yesterday, I had a great day. I was feeling stronger than I ever had been all week and was climbing very well in contrast today has been pretty horrible First I was descending then a bird flew right into my spokes and I think the bird was dead (sorry about that) and then shortly after that I pulled my left hamstring and consequently I had to walk up from the next 2 divide crossings. I thought my life was over. My left hamstring was really in trouble. I thought I popped a vain or something like that. Read more »
