Race Update June 17 at 7AM

Update: Tuesday the 17th @ 7am
This is the hump. You can hear it in their voices, you can read it through their transcripts- its hard going and they are tired. The weather will not be making it easy, and the sections of hike-a-bike demoralise well-laid plans. But if they can hang on for another day or so, their bodies will adapt and it will become easier. Matt Lee and Reubin Kline are still together, staying in Helena overnight with Ardie 40 miles behind. There are five riders who have done well to push over Richmond Peak, it sounds like there is an extra few hours of hiking to get through the snow and fallen trees that seem to pose a problem most years. We had our first withdrawl today, Kevin Hall in Whitefish. Well done on 322 miles Kev, maybe next year? Attached is a JPEG with the positions of all racers so far.
