Hello it's Paul Howard here calling in from Elkford where it's some time after 1.30. A bit of a slow start yesterday just stopped at at Bolton Creek then headed out to Elkford this morning doing reasonably well, heading off to Sparwood tonight and then hopefully over into US border tomorrow.   Seen a bear, seen a moose, seen lots of rabbits with white socks on.  Seen eagles, an elk and some deer - Gosh, what more could you ask for.  And none of them have been at all interested in me which is even more reassuring.

Hey, this is Trevor Browne calling in.  Just arrived at Sparwood. It's about 10:30.  Just had a big breakfast and headed out soon to the Flathead Valley. Things are going good, did about 110 miles yesterday, but kind of paying for it now. My knees are getting kinda sore, but just barely beat a big lightening storm last night. But all is well. Seeing lots of animals. Saw a grizzly about 25 m from me and I quickly turned around after I saw him.  Other than that. the trail is in pretty good condition.  It's pretty wet, pretty mucky.  But everything else is pretty fun. Lots of beautiful scenery.  So today hope to do another 100 miles, if not just go as far as I can. and that's about it.  Say hello to my family and Rachel and I'll talk to you soon.  Bye.

Hey MTV cast this is rider Jeremy Noble AKA trucker and im here in Sparwood uhh its Saturday morning 9:00 and uhh spent the night last night just up the road in elk something…wood. Elkford that’s it and uhh weathers great today gorgeous today having a good time . Later!

Hi it’s Erik Lobeck Calling in its 9:35 am. I’m in Sparwood ready to head out into the big unknown of the re-rout section thru the petting zoo and the Serengeti of North America, which is a little daunting at this point.  Anyway I felt great yesterday I got in pretty early. Hoping to get to where I am now, last night but that wasn’t happening I need some more food.  This morning feeling a little nauseous having a hard time dealing with keeping food down but hopefully that will go away.  Anyway that is all I have to report for now saw maybe 3 grizzlys total and one black bear and some mountain rams I guess is what they are called mountain goats no not mountain goats, rams. I don’t know.  Anyway I am rambling now so I am going to hang up. Bye.

Steve McGuire uhhh leaving Sparwood its about 9:40 local time here uhh slept underneath the of ad heave house it rained a couple times and headin out .  That’s the message and hopefully the next call will be from the US ok bye!

June 13th - Day 2

"Hi this is John Fettis, calling in from Sparwood, BC.

We had a nice leisurely start from Elkford this morning, we just had a huge breakfast and we're good to go into the flathead. I'm with Alan Goldsmith and Steve Wilkinson, and it's looking good - weather is fine.

Awesome day yesterday in the mountains. Saw the first ever bear shit on the trail! That's it for now, looking forward to getting to the border.

Hello its Justin Kline it is Saturday morning umm just before 6:00 am we’re about to head out. Last night uhhh  got in about 8:30 stayed in the United Nations room here had Germany UK and myself um spent most of  the day yesterday by myself took it pretty easy. As some of you might know I have an injury down below I got cycling last week so its pretty tender. Umm and a lot of pain…taking a lot of pain killers and just hoping that I can uhh make it day to day. Doctor says its gonna take a couple weeks to heal so we’ll see what happens. Umm we’re shooting forrr over the border today we’ll see what happens. Aight!
