Mike called in from the Finish Line in Antelope Wells at 8:50 a.m. this morning. He's waiting for a ride back to El Paso for the return flight and he's already talking about doing it all again some time!  Well done Mike!  It's been a real inspiration following you this past month.  (So at 45 years young, does Mike set a record?)

Go Mike!

Mike called in from just north of Separ.  He's only 60 miles from the finish line and although tired, is feeling rejuvenated from a good meal and lodging from a Good Samaritan in New Mexico.  He's in the middle of the desert learning what they mean by "Dry Heat" as he finishes up the race.  Go Mike!

Mike called in from near Pie Town on his push to Silver City.  The call breaks up a bit, but he's making some great headway with several 100 mile plus back to back rides.  Physcially strong but missing home and looking forward to the trail's end.    Go Mike!

Michael Komp's July 4th call in from Salida, Colorado

Michael called in from Salida, Colorado and it sounds like he had a banner day. He rode over a hundred miles, a "century plus" in his words, and crossed through several local July 4th Celebrations before landing in Salida where he was enjoying the excellent company of a local bike shop that is very supportive of Tour Divide racers.  He even challenged a cowboy toting a six shooter to an old fashioned Wild West dual!  Wow, a Century, a cold beer, fireworks and a dual all in one day!

Yesterday was a big day for Michael - he pushed through to Silverthorn, Colorado where he's drying off and resting up.  The battery in his SPOT tracker died, so don't worry if you couldn't track him - his transponder should be working now.

Twenty days into the race and the weather has been terrible.  Wet, cold, missing family and friends but his determination is steady and he only talks about pushing on!

Listen in on Michael's call and learn about the wide range of luxury accommodations he's found along the trail!  You won't believe where he slept night before last....

Go Mike!!!

Mike calls in from Pinedale, Wyoming

Racer update about:

Michael called in after spending the night camping at Union Pass at an altitude of about 9,000 feet.  It was brutally cold and he's hit a bit of a brick wall so he's going to get some rest in Pinedale, Wyoming.  Knees are sore, but he should be out of Wyoming in a few days.

You can hear Mike's call here

We're rooting for you Mike!

Here is Michael's call-in when he crossed the Montana border into Idaho.  It sounds like Montana had some rough weather - rainy and cold, but there were a lot of mosquitoes to keep him company so he wouldn't get too lonely.

We should be all caught up with Michael's early posts now.

Go Mike!!
